If you are having web designing profession, might know more than me but still I have a list of some useful software that you can use to create a webpage layout from scratch.

You know web designing generally includes two chapters Graphics design and CSS design. Graphics includes image and that’s why you must be a photo editing master to design a webpage properly.

A website without image never be shown eye candy, attractive.  Though still now Adobe provides the best graphics designing software, there are some efficient others that you can give try.

Graphics Designing:

1. Adobe Photoshop:

I think there is nothing much worth saying as you already know Photoshop is the highest using, popular photo editing software in the world.

2. Adobe Fireworks:

It’s an another application of Adobe offers you to create nice looking images for different sections of a web page like header, navigation, footer, backgrounds. You can take a default design and edit over it to create the image as per your choice. And not only a particular portion, you can design the entire layout of webpage here.

I have already written an article on how you can create a navigation background image in Fireworks. Just change the image width, height to fit to your header or footer or navigation. All the images that it will produce will be high resolution and of .PNG format.

3. Snag IT:

Snag IT is built specially for the bloggers and web developers to enable them to add a professional touch to photos. It facilitates you to perform several editing jobs over a photo. You can add some texts on a photo in different 80+ formats. You are still able to resize, crop, cut out, trim, enhance operations on photos. Add Spotlight to a particular portion of photo.

CSS Designing:

1. Firebug:

A Firefox add-on to find out the CSS of a webpage in just one click. It will show you the CSS attributes with div classes instantly. Working with it also easy, just get the add-on and integrate to your existing Firefox browser. Now once you have opened a web page, click the sign at right bottom. It will show the Firebug window splitted into two panes.

The left pane show you the div classes and in right pane you will get the attributes of the corresponding class. Changing the attributes from here will show you the live preview. It also shows you the line number of the  CSS where the current attributes are existing.

2. Potato Screen Capture:

A screen capture software from Zamaansoft.com also enables you to find out the CSS code of an object. The object might be an image or real life color. After installing, just open the application and select the fifth option “Color picker”. Now just roll over the cursor on the object to get the CSS color code. It also facilitates you to take a full screen shot of any web page.

3. Adobe Dreamweaver:

Code editor for web developers. It supports html, CSS, php. You can easily find a code as it shows the line number where the code exists. Get direct browser view from here.

Besides whenever you will start to edit a CSS code in Dreamweaver, it will suggest you some related attributes that you might want to write.
