How to Create a Beautiful, Gradient Color, Navigation Background Image in Adobe Fireworks
In an earlier article I published some unique design, gradient color navigation background images. All these are high resolutions and of .PNG format. But now I am going to show you the steps in Adobe Fireworks through which I have made these.
You can start here with some given design styles on which you are able to further perform some editing like color changing, gradient range changing etc. You can split the gradient range into 3-4 layers to create a gradient combination of 2-3 different colors.
It also provides you to add some texture effects from a list of approx 100 textures samples. Check out the tutorial below in details…
How to Create the Navigation Image with Existing Designs:
1. First Adobe Fireworks should be installed in your PC. Now once you have opened the application, it will prompt you to select the file extension as PNG. Click on it.

2. It will pop-up a small window where you have to put the image height, width and background color. So enter the height, width that should match to your blog. If transparent background needed, check the “Transparent” option at below of “White”. Finally click on “OK”.

3. Now you should get the editor interface. Select the “Rectangle Tool” from left tool pane and holding a left click select the total area of the created space in step2. You should ofcourse select the entire white space.

4. Once the space is selected, click on any one “Design Styles” at right pane. It will show you the live preview and you can further set the color combinations to fit to your blog. If you don’t want to proceed anymore, save the image from “File>Save As..”, otherwise follow the steps below…

How to Further Set the Color Combinations:
5. To change the colors or gradient range, click on the Color option at bottom pane. It will show you all the colors that the current image is containing. A small pop-up opens, you can see in the screenshot below there are three color pots from which the middle pot maintains the gradient range. So move it to set the gradient range as your choice.
The two terminal pots are holding the colors, so click on these to get your favorite colors from the newly appeared color pallete.

6. Once color is set, you can add some Texture effects by clicking the “Texture” labeled drop down box. You can choose it from approx 100 texture samples.

That’s all, now save it from “File>Save As..”
