- Your PC can not read from CD/DVD at the time of booting.
Procedure to Install Windows XP from USB Drive:
1. Download the software and install. Insert a fresh copy of Windows XP installation disc and a pen drive. Open the application of WinSetupFromUSB.
2. Look at the top side of the window where is an option for browsing. Click on it and navigate the location of CD/DVD Drive.
3. Just below of “Browse” button, there is an another button for “Refresh”. Click on it to automatically detect the Pen Drive.
4. Thus if the source (CD/DVD drive ) and destination (pen drive) locations are well detected, click on the button “PEtoUSB”. An another window would open where you have to click on the “Source Path To Built BartPE/Win PE Files” option to navigate the source drive (CD/DVD). Once done, click on “Start”.
5. A pop up window would prompt you for continuing, click on “Yes” and proceed.
6. It might take 4-5 minutes. In that mean time it would copy the windows files to the PenDrive.
7. After completing the process back to the main window of the software. There is an option “GO” at the bottom of the window. Click on it to finally make your Pen drive bootable.
8. Now the software agreement page would appear. Read carefully and Click on “Accept” to continue the procedure. Thereafter a pop-up might again prompt to get the permission to continue. Click on “Yes” and wait for a couple of minutes.
Once done, plug off the pen drive and it’s now ready to boot and install Windows XP.
Now you have to change boot priority to USB drive so that computer can choose pen drive to boot first. To do that simply restart your PC and press F10 while booting. It would tour you to the bios settings. Change the priority from here.
Plug-in the pen drive and again restart your computer. Look it is now booting XP from pen drive.
