How To Make A Password Protected Rar File

Sometimes it’s required to password protect a file or folder to keep its privacy. Here in this article we are going to password protect a file or folder by creating a RAR archive with Winrar.

Winrar is a very small software of 1.3 MB, used to create a RAR archive of any file. It would take not more than 2-3 minutes.

Procedure to create a Password Protected RAR file:

1. First install “Winrar.exe” on your PC.

2. Right click on the file or folder which you want to convert into password protected rar file.

3. Click on the “Add to archive” option in the newly appeared window.

4. An another window would appear. Click on the  “Advanced” button on it.

5. Now click on the “Set password” button at the right side of the window.

6. A pop up window would appear for password setting. Type your desired password two times (one for verification) and hit the “OK” button.
